Kerry Spokes – Brief Biography:
I come from a fine arts background in drawing and printmaking but am always looking for new mediums for expression of my ideas. Iphoneography suits my current, very busy lifestyle; realising my ideas and concepts in a shorter time frame than more process driven mediums I have used in the past. There is sometimes a crossover between my digital and non digital works, using printmaking to transpose some of my iphone works into etchings and drawings. I have recently been given two highly commended prizes in the international Mobile Photography Awards, as well as an article in Imprint Magazine (March 2014) on my iphoneography. I have also been awarded a number of prizes in regional art shows with my iphoneography, the most recent being The Bass Coast Art Award at the Bass Coast Art Show, Wonthaggi, Easter 2014, the Your Art Collection Bass Coast Shire Acquisitive Prize, September 2014 and the The Bass Coast Art Award at the Phillip Island Art Show, November 2014.
