Mono Transfer Technique Workshop Tutor: Kate Zizys
A print transfer process that uses graphic elements of colour and line to create unique state drawings from ready-made source material. This technique was made popular by English Superstar artist Tracy Emin in the 1990’s; it’s easy and once you know how to apply it you can make beautiful multicoloured ink based transfer drawings onto any soft medium including paper and fabric.
This technique does not require the use of heavy press machinery and is easy to master. You don’t need any technical drafting skills to create dynamic illustrations and designs using this method and it can be applied to figure drawing, landscape and abstract works.
Using high quality heavily pigmented printing ink you will create a palette and apply a thin resist of talc to the surface. The transfer technique requires a steady hand and an eye for colour and design. It’s easy and enjoyable to make interesting, artistic drawings this way please join us at Gecko Studio Gallery for a demonstration and workshop.
